This place is spectacular and lovely, with an incredible location below a hill on which the property was built.

We were absolutley delighted with our apartment on the fourth floor and guess we would want this again in the future for the spectacular views which may not be available in lower floors.Staff were extremely helpful.All in all a memorable visit to celebrate my wife's birthday in a perfect location.

We would have appreciated a kettle to boil water in the kitchen for making tea This was a slight disadvantage when we had to boil water in a pan on the hot plate ceramica. But I guess this is a cultural difference as there was a coffee perculator available.We would also have appreciated if the cafe&bar had been open later in the day and not just in the morning. Nearest bar in the evening is in the centre of town which is a fair walk away. Again this may be because mid May is not regarded as being the high seasonand therefore not viable to open the bar later in the day.

Wonderful sea views.Very friendly staff.Well thought out appt and balcony equipment.We just had fun ,after city sightseeing it was a fantastic change of scenery and pace.San Jose as a place is a treasure.

This hotel offers great value for money. The spacious apartment was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen and a nice balcony. The location is perfect, being close to both the beach and the village, making it convenient for exploring and dining out. The views from the balcony were absolutely stunning, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean sea and the surrounding mountains.

There was a slight issue with cleanliness in some areas of the apartment, such as the fridge and under the bed. everything was satisfactory.

The Vistamar San José is a very pleasant hotel overlooking the bay of San José in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. It is a little bit outside from the village centre, but still in the village; about a ten minute walk to the centre. Clean and surprisingly large apartments. Facilities like pool and tabletennis. Breakfest was not included, but there is an in-house cafeteria with reasonable prices for coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, etc. Very close to the footpath leading to the neighbouring unspoilt beaches, which are simply breathtaking for someone otherwise used to the ugly urbanisations and plastic-covered fields of the Costa del Sol.

The breakfast options offered here are great, and the rooms are elegant, spacious, and have comfortable beds.

The apartment was very big and well-equipped for the price and an easy, pleasant walk to the beach front. Great balcony to see the stars at night and not too far away from some amazing hillside walks and another hidden-away beach front that is an awesome day out.

We had our apartment upgraded, without asking, as there was building work on the next building (expected to be completed March/April 2011). Staff very friendly & helpful. Accomodation good, everything worked well, heating, hot water & cooking facilties. As far as we could tell all rooms had excellent views accross San Jose bay.

It was clean, with friendly approachable staff, and the area is beautiful with great beaches and wildlife.

Lovely balcony from our room on level 4 with great sea view. The apartment was intelligently and pleasantly well equipped with crockery, cooking pans & implements. There was a good hob (no oven) and microwave. It was spacious, and well situated for a pleasant amble into town passing a decent beach for swimming only 2 mins walk away. There was table tennis, 2 TVs (one in bedroom) allowing English language options for imported programmes. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The cleaning was good and very cleary explained with towels and bedding changed every 4 days and the apartment well cleaned every day.

We had some problems with noise every morning quite early (cleaners) and we were near reception (room 402). Despiite being very pleasant, the accommodation was by no means luxurious - chrome fittings in bathroom very worn, sofa etc old.. Shower seen better days but worked well. But we were comfy and happy there and would definitely return
